Welcome to Canberräng 2025 — now running every two years and back bigger than ever! We’re kicking things off at one of our favourite venues: the White Eagle Polish Club, affectionately known as The Polo.

Built in the 1970s by renowned Italian-born modernist architect Dr Enrico Taglietti, this Canberra gem is as stylish as it is charming. We love introducing our interstate guests to its striking design and warm, nostalgic vibe.

Ease into the weekend with some laid-back social dancing, powered by a stellar DJ lineup. It’s the perfect way to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and get into the Canberräng groove — one swingout at a time.

The next day, why not explore Canberra’s eclectic array of coffee shops in Braddon, browse the shops in the Canberra Centre, then check out Tiger Lane Canberra’s newest dining precinct.

Friday Night – Verity Lane
Great Food. Great Band. City Vibes.

Verity Lane Market takes its name from Verity Hewitt — a trailblazing woman who opened Canberra’s first bookshop in 1938, right in the heritage-listed Sydney Building, the city’s oldest commercial structure. Located in the heart of the city, this stunning venue blends history with modern energy and is the perfect spot for an unforgettable evening of swing.

We’re thrilled to welcome back the stunning Sydney jazz vocalist Kate Wadey. Known for her effortlessly smooth tone and timeless style, Kate brings a warmth and charm that will leave you with a song in your heart — and a little more swing in your step.

Make a night of it with a bite from one of the many incredible food vendors in the Verity Lane Market hall and grab a drink from the bar — it’s all right downstairs, just steps from the dance floor.

As you soak up the atmosphere, take a moment to reflect on the venue’s rich past — a place that honours a remarkable woman whose life journey spanned continents and Cold War intrigue.

Saturday Afternoon – Gold Creek Station by Day
Jazz in the Paddock, Joy on the Floor

One of the true highlights of Canberräng is transforming unique local spaces into unforgettable dance venues — and this one’s pure Australiana.

Just a stone’s throw from the city, this rustic homestead-style station offers a genuine outback experience, complete with wide open space, a weathered charm, and yes — a working kelpie named Davo!

This year, we’re bringing the party back in the daylight hours. Soak up the sunshine, fresh air and relaxed country vibes as we swing the afternoon away in this iconic bush setting.

Providing the soundtrack is none other than Eamon McNelis’ Skellingtons Jazz Band — known for their cool grooves, vintage flair and toe-tapping energy that perfectly matches the atmosphere of this open-air adventure.

Throw on your finest country-inspired threads, grab your sunnies, and get ready to kick up a little dust — this is Canberräng at its most laid-back and lively.

Saturday Night – The Grand Return to Albert Hall
Vintage Glamour & a Voice from Harlem

After many years, Canberräng is finally returning to one of Canberra’s most iconic venues and home to many of our events over the years — Albert Hall. This grand and historic ballroom has played host to decades of unforgettable gatherings, and on Saturday night, it’s ours once again.

Stepping into its elegant surrounds feels like stepping into another era — soaring ceilings, vintage charm, and a dance floor ready to come alive. It’s the perfect setting for our main event, and this year, it comes with something truly extraordinary.

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Seydurah Avecmoi — a sensational jazz vocalist from New York City, performing for Australian swing dancers for the very first time. With a voice that drips with soul, sass, and vintage glamour, Seydurah has lit up stages across Harlem and beyond, and now she’s bringing that magic straight to our dance floor. This is no ordinary gig — this is a Canberräng debut of international proportions.

Saturday night is when Canberrängers go all in — and this year, it’s going to be a night for the books. So pull out your sharpest threads, bring your biggest energy, and get ready to swing the night away in one of the most beautiful ballrooms in the country.

Lindy, Blues & That 2AM Feeling – the Canberräng Late Night is the stuff of legend — and this year, we’re taking it up a notch at one of our favourite venues, The White Eagle Polish Club, affectionately known as The Polo.
As Saturday night rolls on, we open up two rooms, each serving a different flavour of late-night magic.The Lindy Hop room will be pumping with swing sets from some of the best DJs in the country — keeping the energy high and the floor hot.


We’re dimming the lights and turning up the mood in the Blues Room, where something truly special awaits.
Making her blues debut at Canberräng )and Australia), Seydurah Avecmoi will take the stage in an intimate set that’s sure to be unforgettable. If you thought her jazz had power — just wait until you hear her blues. Soulful, raw, and full of fire, Seydurah will have you glued to the floor until the very last note.


Whether you’re chasing the pulse of a fast lindy or sinking into the slow burn of late-night blues, this is your chance to dance deep into the night with friends old and new.

Today’s the day to step out in your Sunday best for a spot of free social dancing! We’ll be bringing some vintage flair to one of Canberra’s weekend institutions and sharing the joy of swing dance with market goers. Grab a coffee and come along for a dance to fun, classic sets from our Canberräng DJs.

Slip into your Sunday best and join us for a joyful morning of free social dancing at one of Canberra’s most beloved weekend institutions — the Old Bus Depot Markets.

We’ll be adding some vintage flair to the vibrant hum of market life, sharing the joy of swing with curious onlookers and enthusiastic stallholders alike. Grab a coffee, soak up the atmosphere, and dance to classic swing sets from our talented Canberräng DJs.

The Old Bus Depot Markets have been part of the Canberräng story for years — and with good reason. With international tourism awards and a place in Canberra’s Top Ten ‘Places of the Heart’, this historic venue, once home to ACTION buses, has long been transformed into a bustling hub of creativity and community.

There’s just something about Sunday morning at the Markets — the music, the energy, the light pouring through those big old windows — that makes it feel like the perfect farewell… or the start of the next adventure. If you’re suddenly dreaming of swing dancing at a winery, well, you wouldn’t be the first.

Sunday at Lake George Winery – A Canberräng Classic
Where the Vines Sing & the Music Swings

There are special moments at every Canberräng, but few rival the magic of Sunday afternoon at Lake George Winery. This event has become a cherished tradition — and once you experience it, you’ll understand why.

Nestled in the hills just outside Canberra, Lake George Winery offers the perfect mix of rolling countryside, crisp wines, and live jazz that hits you right in the feels. It’s an afternoon of effortless joy and soaking up that relaxed, post-Saturday-night glow.

We first stumbled upon this gem back in 2010 — a few buses, some impromptu singalongs, and a whole lot of charm — and it’s been a favourite ever since. Each new owner has embraced the Canberräng spirit with warmth and hospitality, and we’re grateful to call this place part of our story.

This year’s energy? Next level. Eamon McNelis and The Skellingtons Jazz Band return to the winery, and they’re bringing a show-stopping guest: Seydurah Avecmoi.

Expect a setlist rich in 1930s swing — Billie Holiday, Hoagy Carmichael, Jelly Roll Morton and more — all delivered with style, soul, and a whole lot of heart. Add a dash of vintage DJ tunes, a glass of wine in hand, and the company of your favourite dancers, and you’ve got the makings of another unforgettable Canberräng afternoon.

  • 5:00 pm – depart from the Lake George Winery. The bus will drop you back at the Canberra City (Civic) Bus Interchange at approximately 5:50 pm as well as the Old Bus Depot Markets Kingston at approximately 6:00 pm. 

Sunday Night – The Duxton
One More Dance, One More Drink, One More Story

Yes, we know — every venue this year has been a nostalgic gem, and you might be thinking we’ve curated some kind of Greatest Hits tour of Canberra’s swing scene. And… well, maybe we have.

But The Duxton has always had a special place in our hearts. Maybe it’s the perfect wrap-up vibe, the great food, or the way the DJs just know exactly how to keep your tired feet moving. Whatever it is, this one always hits different.

This year, we’re set up in a different room upstairs and out the back, and we couldn’t be happier to be returning. It’s the kind of night that’s effortlessly cool, full of solid beats, tasty eats, and the kinds of conversations that only happen after four days of dancing together.

The spotlight is on our incredible Canberräng DJs, and yes, we have said that before — but this lineup really is something else. Expect chilled grooves, surprise soul trains, and that bittersweet joy of soaking up the final hours with your favourite interstate pals.

So don’t rush off just yet. Stay one more night, share one more drink, and grab those last few dances before the weekend folds into memory.
